+ At the end of the catwalk You reach the main warp reactor door.
Jacobs: Eh, you don't want to go inside there Commander, its full of high levels of radiation.
I can't go in there with my protective suit either, too much radiation. You'll flood the whole ship with radiation if you open that Containment door. Its only supposed to be open when there's no radiation inside the core. |
Jacobs: It is safe now to enter into the reactor core. The levels have dropped right down. Enter into the Reactor Core Go back Enter into Inner Doorway of the Core Go Back Jacobs: Gosh is spooky in here. Well at least the radiation levels are right down now and will no longer be lethal to us anymore. Its been a while since I been down here. |
Computer: See those Platforms with all the plasma rods in them, you must arrange the switches on each one to to drain the plasma so you can access into those areas as well. The Ship only drains the main middle core area when you initiate the core flush.. Sorry, I forgot to mention that one little detail. You have to get the switches in the right order in order to clear each area. I do not have the combinations That is why you have 69 minutes to figure them out. Good luck to you Commander.
Jacobs: Yes, that's why we need to hurry to start figuring out these switches. There are the platforms and the control panels are there. Even I the Ship Chief Engineer don't know all of the Reactor Core combinations but I know the first two. So that's a start.. First we have to disable the three that are in the middle of the core.
Jacobs: Each level of the core acts as a series of gates to transfer the plasma from one area of the core to the other. How else are the personnel of the ship are to reach all the areas of the core for inspection unless we can access into those areas to make sure that everything is in good working order. That's why the Catwalks were built in. They are no longer radioactive now that the core has been flushed. So everything is safe to touch. Yes the Plasma is a very pretty sight, but remember without that containment field blocking it to stop it from coming down in here where we are, its still very deadly.
Jacobs: Oh its special radioactive proof material that's been coated on top of the metal to allow it to withstand all the high temperatures of the core. Its hotter than the sun in that thing. But its nice at cool at the moment. We must keep our eye on the timer because we have to be quick before the plasma returns back, its an automated system so not even the computer can halt it.
Jacobs: That's right, but if we move quickly and get the job done then the sooner we will be outta here. Don't be fooled, the core stretches all the way up higher into the ship structure, so its pretty big, what you see in the warp core engine room is just the bottom part of the actual core. You are only seeing one half of it.
Jacobs; It has about 12 levels altogether. Its a long way up there. We have to deactive the plasma from all those areas. Examine Panel 1 on far wall of Reactor Core Examine Panel 2 on left side of Reactor Core Walk along Catwalk 1 to central unit Main Tower 1 Walk along Catwalk 2 to Tower 2 Walk along Catwalk 3 to Tower 5 Lift Level 2 Walk to Bottom Catwalk down to the Base Unit Exit |
Jacobs: Very well we should be getting to the main area of the ship where we need to take care of the plasma flow Control Chamber. We need to move the switch that controls the plasma flow.
