"The World of Bad Naming Extensions"
Jeops Docking Control: Oh I guess I can shorten the name since you are new visitors to our planet, You may get away with shortening our names here on the space station, but you won't get away with that down on the main homeworld as it is law on our world for any visitors to to pronounce our names complete in full and correctly otherwise there will be fines and they can be quite expensive. This is not my rule, but it is the rule of the Jeops Council of our leader Prodius Fissiusflatis the Fourth of old Drongens Maximuls of Wormy Village of Pomen Flavius Oldenrags......

Jeops Docking Control: Gasp I can't believe you shortened my name down to one word. That's a serious offense if that was committed down on the homeworld. That will be 100 credits fine. I will be lenient on you since you are new visitors so the fine won't be as expensive as it would be on the homeworld.
Jeops Docking Control: Which is the general rule on the Homeworld. That's why our conversations take quite a bit of time, having to remember everybody's names. That's why I escaped from the Homeworld to work up here in the space station, where I am not bound by those rules but I won't tolerate one word names. I guess I still have some of the old tradition in me.
Computer: Jeops, the world of pain in recalling names. Oh why, why do you torment yourself Commander. You will be forever having conversations with the inhabitants down on this world. They are a proud bunch it takes ages to pronounce all their names because their names are long. Probably the longest in so far to date in the Quadrant. It is a rather special world for that reason.
Computer: Oh the trust and unbelief around here. Find out the hard way then. Go on go down and visit their world and explore it for yourselves but don't complain to me if it wasn't what you
thought it was and you can go knock your head against the spacedocks in the morning when you see your folly. Pay the silly fee Leave the system Explore the rest of the station Go down on the Homeworld |
Solius: Jeops is the neighboring world to Mesia Prime. Yeah they have a bunch of very weird out of place rules down on that world. We don't visit it much for the obvious reasons. I rather avoid their Fines. So If you do decide to go down there Commander, you will be held up in their meetings because of the lengthy naming conventions that these people have.
Skynar: Yes, that's right Loana. I have to be bang on target all of the time in order to get the ship to its proper destination. Especially true when you're trying to navigate the ship through a tight asteroid field. That's why I need all my concentration when sitting in the pilot chair when on manual..
Jeops Docking Control: Yes unfortunately. Its a mappers nightmare. But they do hold one special day a year called Short Name Day where everybody for one day shortens up their names. But its only allowed on that one day. Otherwise you have to observe the norm. Which takes ages to get through. Now you can see why I had to escape and stay up here where I can be free from all those naming conventions the council has imposed down on our planet.
Loana: You are like a Leeming looking for more punishment Commander. If you want some advice, just Stop chasing all the storms. It sounds like the Council down there is sticking to its lengthy naming rules and has no interest of changing it. Jeops System System Lists |
