QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS FROM THE GAME AUTHOR
FAQ
Now to clear up all the common misconceptions that some people on here seem to have about my Game Project and because they sometimes don't read my words properly....
Who put all this stuff up on this site?
Answer: I did. It took me a while to put up all the storylines of the game. I did it a little bit at a time. It was the only way to get it done.
Now that I got the spline Tool system working, I should be making another map or two soon in Unreal Engine. Maybe start with Noobus or something.
Is this a big project?
Answer: Yes, its a vast game. has many systems and worlds in it. Just click on the Systems tab on my site and you soon begin to see how big the game is. For I laid out the game script on my site.
Is this a Commercial Game?
Answer: No, it is a strictly non-commercial non-profit game. Because of all the game resources it uses, I cannot afford all the commercial licensing, Its just too expensive to turn a project of this size into a commercial game. That's the bottom line.
Since your game has dialog, will you have rigged face animation characters also in it
so they can talk with their mouths also?
Answer: I am using Crazytalk for doing 2d Facial Video Animations is about as close to lip syncing as I can get at the moment for I haven't got lip syncing fully worked out with the rigs in Unreal Engine even though I can import it in from Blender. I have to manually set up the lip synching in Blender before I can import it into Unreal Engine.
So what do you do to give back then if we help you?
Answer: I help out every now and again by making public domain music tunes and
upload them to opengameart under a CCO License, a game developers resources site,
some people have used my tunes in their games. I have uploaded about 20 pages of music
tunes up on that site.
Well just take courses to learn how to use Blender then, don't be lazy..
Answer: Blender can several years to develop all those skills that are needed to do all the 3d modelling. as well as learning all the workarounds to avoid triggering off all its FBX pipeline bugs. I find Blender to be a bit unorthodox with its navigation layout. It also has rigging issues with Unreal Engine and the FBX Pipeline in Blender is a bit buggy.
Who wrote all the storylines to the game?
Answer: I wrote all the storylines with the Lord's help so If you like them, leave a comment. If you don't like them also leave a comment. but don't be unkind in your feedback.
How long is your code: what code is it made in?
Answer: The script of the game is over 368 thousand lines long, the script itself is not in unreal engine
blueprint code yet, but it is a simple windows script text file to make things easier in writing all
the arrays to store all the dialogs in. It is a runnable batch file that displays pictures, plays sounds of the game and steps through all the dialog.

Well just get all the resources then, there's truckloads of free stuff that you can use. Why
don't you use that cool ship model I saw from that neat game I played? You can also buy tons of stuff up in the marketplace get asset packs, ect.
Answer: Some people don't realize that to make a game commercial, you have to license also all the assets of the game also for commercial use. Yes some stuff is free for personal or non-commercial use,, BUT you cannot use free assets made by other artists for commercial purposes if their assets are not licensed under a commercial use license.
For if you plan on making a profit out of your project you will have to pay for all the commercial licensing for the game. That's why you have Commercial, Shareware or Freeware licensing. You also cannot use any assets with Unreal Engine that are released under General Public Licensing or any Creative Commons Share Alike CC-SA licensing as those licenses are not compatible with the EULA license in Unreal Engine. The other way to have a completely free game engine and not worry about Restrictions in User Licensing would be to design this game in GODOT (which I am thinking about, but it involves alot more heavy scripting of code than Unreal Engine which is more visual with its blueprints.).
Well just get the props all custom-made then.
Answer: I don't do 3d modeling. And i am not a big major game studio that pays hundreds of people to make all the props.
Why are you making the game?
Answer: To teach certain life lessons in the game. Every game has a story so they say. I like
story dialog driven ARPG games that have depth to them, not just shooters and
well, more shooting and little to no storylines in them. I got tired of that and decided to
make my own RPG game.
Why didn't the the A.I Computer use a real human voice?
Answer: Because I gave the ship's computer a whiny, annoying A.I Female Synthesis
voice just to suit her personality.
The A.I Computer is just only a cheap flimsy looking picture on a screen ! This is worse than the
google photoshopped pic of Tali !! I was expecting a really cool-looking Computer AI
not some cheap pic of a computer !!!
Answer; Nobody has modelled the A.I computer for me yet. so the computer pic is just a temporary placeholder until I can find a sutiable model for the AI Computer..
Why have you got Make Human Models in your game? I saw some of them on the site. Urgh,
they all look like clones !!!
Answer; It was the Quickest way for me to get some temporary placeholder pics in for the
characters in the dialog storylines until I find better looking models. There is a planet in the game that will have the make human models in it that the Commander can visit if he wants.
Your game has bugs in it.
Of course it does, until I work out the remaining bugs that are in the game.
